Nonscattering solutions and blowup at infinity for the critical wave equation
Abstract: I present some recent results, obtained in collaboration with Joachim Krieger, on novel types of solutions to the critical wave equation in 3 spatial dimensions. These solutions either blow up at infinity or vanish at a prescribed rate. The existence of such exotic dynamics violates a strong version of the soliton resolution conjecture.
